A gaming journal for players who read the footnotes.

Wild Dungeon Legends publishes long-form criticism, hardware testing and indie discovery from a small desk on Cooper Street. No review scores bought, no press-trip flattery — just careful writing about the games worth your evenings.

Editorial method

How a review actually gets made here.

Every piece follows the same unhurried path. It is why we publish fortnightly rather than daily, and why we would rather be late than wrong.

01

Play to the credits

No verdict before completion. We log a minimum of the full main campaign — often 40+ hours — on retail hardware bought with reader funds, not review kits.

02

Bench & measure

Frame times, load durations and thermals are captured on a fixed test rig. Numbers are published as raw tables so you can draw your own conclusions.

03

Draft & challenge

A second editor plays the disputed sections and argues the opposite case. Claims that survive the argument stay; the rest are cut before publication.

04

Publish & correct

Every article carries a visible revision log. If a post-launch patch changes our verdict, we revisit the piece rather than quietly leaving it stale.

From our readers

Why they keep the subscription.

"The only outlet I trust to tell me a beloved sequel is a bit dull. Their frame-time tables saved me from a handheld that would have cooked in my backpack."

Daniel R. · Newtown, NSW · March 2026

"I found my favourite game of the year buried in their indie column — a title no big site had touched. The interview with the developers was genuinely moving."

Priya S. · Brunswick, VIC · January 2026

"As a parent with limited hours, their 'play to the credits' policy means I actually finish what they recommend. No hype, no scores I have to decode. Worth every dollar."

Marcus O. · Fortitude Valley, QLD · February 2026
